PARTY WITH THE PUPS AT THE 5TH ANNUAL FALL WOOFSTOCK

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27TH FROM 11 AM—3PM

ORIGINAL CARROLWOOD PARK, 11470 ORANGE GROVE DR, TAMPA, FL

Woofstock is a free pet and family friendly festival with an expected attendance of 2,500+. During the 4-hour Wag-O-Ween event, guests can participate in a full program of family and pet activities like Halloween costume and peanut butter eating contests, live music, food and drinks, raffles, costumed characters, agility demonstrations, expert dog advice and fun dog activities. They also have the opportunity to learn more about rescue in our community and meet dogs looking for forever homes through the estimated 20 pet rescue groups who participate.

Tampa Pets believes the high rate of euthanasia of adoptable pets is a solvable problem that needs creative solutions. While we actively promote cat rescue as well, one of the biggest issues for dogs is behavioral problems that are only exacerbated in the shelter environment. In the past few years we’ve established relationships with Trainer/ Boarding Facilities to evaluate, train and often foster dogs with issues so they can become adoptable. We have partnered with Kids and Canines and K9 Partners for Patriots to locate and refer homeless dogs for their comfort and assistance dog training programs. We have partnered with The New Barker magazine and several retail companies to bring additional resources to shelters to help retrain and socialize through non-profits like Dogs Playing for Life, who teach shelter staff how to work with these dogs so they become adoptable. We’ve helped raise money for enrichment activities at shelters.

Why? Because a happy, friendly, pup is easy to adopt out and they don’t become the dreaded foster nightmare of never finding a home. When you can assure a foster family that they won’t get ‘stuck’ with a pet it is a lot easier to recruit more fosters. Fosters are the life blood of all-volunteer groups so more fosters equals more saved animals.

Basically, we’ll try just about anything to help move more pets out of shelters, whether through direct adoption or transfer to rescue groups. Toyota of Tampa Bay is proud to contribute to this meaningful partnership with the rescue community and via continued joint marketing programs and events such as this. We are a strategic advertising partner for businesses who support pet rescue and will continue to aid year round in the following efforts along with local pet organizations:

. Encouraging social media interaction in the community to find foster homes, encourage adoption and raise money for all volunteer rescues.

. Shining a spotlight on the rescue community through large scale events.

. Providing food and supplies to local rescue for the pets in their care.

Kids and Canines focuses on social development, emotional wellness and employability for disadvantaged youth through helping children with special needs to find acceptance, build confidence and enjoy friendship through interaction with one of their dogs; help an elementary child to find the joy of reading, a fundamental to educational achievement, through their reading programs, and; teach at-risk teens to learn important job and employability skills while training one of their dogs.

Put your best paw forward and join the fun. Dogs and well behaved humans welcome.
